Here's a quick list of shortcuts you may use in Desmos. You can find these keyboard shortcuts and more in the help menu in the calculator or by pressing ctrl + / on Windows, command + / on Mac.

Save: ctrl + s

Save As or Rename: ctrl + shift + s

Open (saved graphs): ctrl + o

Undo: ctrl + z

Redo: ctrl + y

New expression: press "enter"

Add a new note: type " in an empty expression

Exponent: can be entered like x^2

Subscript: can be entered like y1 or v_ariable

You can also move around the expression list and within table cells using the arrow keys

Symbols:

: type "sqrt" (you can also type "nthroot" for cubed roots, etc)

: type "sum"

π: type "pi"

θ: type "theta"

: type "prod"

I love Desmos not only because its graphing capabilities but I'm also using as my notebook instead of the paper. When I have to derive some physics equations and I'm bound to make mistakes, desmos allows me to simply correct that little mistake instead of starting all over again and what's more important is that it looks way better than my horrible handwritten equations. But the problems I have is that lots of symbols are missing like integrals, Greek letters, matrices and so forth and there is too little space for writing equations so I hope in the future desmos will suit these purposes too and replace scratch papers. There are huge benefits that are hard to foresee for example imagine a teacher making a video tutorial while typing equations instead of scribbling with hand, or a lecture where professor uses projector and desmos instead of a blackboard, typing is easier than writing and reading typed words is easier, everybody would be happy! I really that happens soon.... If not I'm gonna make it!

This helped a lot because I had to graph cube root and I was freaking out and i found this! :-)

I encounter a bug when trying to use my bluetooth keyboard on the default desmos interface. (I am on a tablet.) There's no input received when I try typing on it for an equation; it only shows the desmos keyboard.

I am unable to move a part of the graph using the arrow keys. Instead it goes between equations.

Arnav - we don't have a degree symbol but you can toggle between radians and degrees in the graph settings menu!

Why is the iPad/iPhone app missing the integral and prime symbols which are available online? 😖

      ∫ and  '

Franklin - is your app the most updated version? We just updated the app to include integrals!

im wondering if there's a shortcut to insert a column on a table- it is tedious to shift over an entire table one term at a time when none of the points are function-based, and i REALLY want to insert a column to the immediate right of the spinal "x_1" column.

also, i don't know if it's my computer being really slow or the site breaking at a certain point..... but when doing about 20 exponential (x^n for 0<n<x type) sums, 240 max/min/abs operations and a handful of sliders at their roots, it just broke. it wont graph any more, and i'm afraid to refresh.

It would be great to have shortcuts for:
    1. Show/hide sidepanel
    2. Zoom in/out
    3. Projector Mode ON/OFF

    Thanks!

Can you add the ± symbol to the graphing calculator? I can't write the quadratic formula in my graphs...

Edit: I just learned that copy pasting it works. It could be given a shortcut like +-

Edit 2: It doesn't work how it was supposed to...

If you want positive and negative possibilities, simply square everything. I.e. (x+b/2a)^2=b^2-4ac, if you let d^2=b^2-4ac, then let x=(d-b)/2a, you should get the same result and in a way that can be understood easily, yes?

If you want some equation to specifically NOT work for some value m=n, then multiply something by (m-n)/(m-n) which gives 0/0 and thereby creates a hole in the function.

Is there any way to add bar notation for repeating decimals?
